NYTimes: 2018 Winter Olympics Go to South Korea
The Winter Olympics were awarded for the first time to South Korea on Wednesday as the alpine resort of Pyeongchang was named host of the 2018 Games.

【ヨハネスブルク支局】国際オリンピック委員会（ＩＯＣ）は６日、南アフリカのダーバンで開かれた第１２３回総会で、２０１８年冬季五輪の開催都市に、平昌（ピョンチャン）（韓国）を選んだ。韓国での五輪開催はソウルで行われた１９８８年夏季五輪以来２回目で、冬季五輪は初めて。アジアでは札幌、長野に続き３回目となる。平昌は１０、１４年の招致でいずれも敗れており、３度目の立候補でようやく選ばれた。五輪開催日は２月９～２５日の予定。
